Overview
The ABB ACS-CP-C basic control panel is an HMI for ABB Low Voltage Drives with a three-line LCD display and bar graph. It provides real-time readouts for output frequency (Hz), output current (A), output voltage (V), motor torque (%), DC bus voltage (V), frequency-proportional values (e.g., RPM), heatsink temperature, and fault/status messages.
The numeric keypad has 9 keys for navigation, including 4 dedicated keys for run/stop, increment, decrement, and setting functions. A copy function stores parameters in the panel’s memory for transfer to other drives or system backup, reducing downtime and simplifying maintenance.
The ACS-CP-C supports linear and S-curve acceleration/deceleration, local/remote control, FWD/REV selection, DC braking, manual/auto torque boost, motor slip compensation, electronic potentiometer, skip frequencies, adjustable frequency limits, output current regulation, DC bus regulation, speed/torque control, and PID functionality.
It operates on a 10V DC power supply with a maximum capacity of 50mA and provides indication accuracy of 10% for current and 0.1Hz for speed resolution.
Safety features include protection against overcurrent, phase-phase short circuits, under/overvoltage, motor overload, overtemperature in the power module (IGBTs), external faults/alarms, and programming errors. The panel is rated IP20 and complies with IEC/EN 60529, UL 50, and IEC/EN 60721-3-3 standards.
Communication options include Modbus-TCP, RS485 (Modbus RTU/BACnet), RS232, CANopen, DeviceNet, Ethernet, Profibus-DP, or USB (with plug-in modules).
